Walks in the Vale of Clwyd Guidebook

Walks in the Vale of Clwyd Guidebook

by: David Berry
The Vale of Clwyd in Denbighshire is a beautiful area of North Wales, lying between the border and Snowdonia. It is an excellent walking area and easily accessible from the A55 expressway. The lush green Vale, which takes its name from the river Clwyd flowing through its length, nestles between the Clwydian Range and gently rolling hills in the west. The Vale starts as a narrow enclosed river valley, then broadens into a fertile plain, passing the historic market towns of Denbigh and Ruthin, then the small cathedral city of St Asaph to meet the coast at Rhyl.

This guidebook contains 26 circular walks exploring the beautiful unspoilt Vale of Clwyd. There are walks beside peaceful rivers, through little known wooded valleys, over lush pastures and low hills, and around historic market towns. They feature many places of interest, including ancient churches, holy wells, Iron Age settlements, houses of historical or architectural importance, nature reserves and old country inns. They visit impressive Denbigh Castle, medieval Ruthin and St Asaph. Each walk has an overview summary and start location information. Detailed route finding instructions include a sketch map.
