Walks from the Talyllyn Railway Guidebook

Walks from the Talyllyn Railway Guidebook

author: David Perrott
All the walks in this guide are based around the railway, starting from the stations, which can be reached from Tywyn, and in one case also using a local bus service. The Talyllyn railway's history is inextricably linked to the quarry at Bryn Eglwys where slate quarrying began in the 1840s. The current narrow-gauge line was completed about 1866. The book includes an introduction describing the history of the railway.

Each walk chapter includes an overview description with details of how to get to the start. This is followed by detailed route-finding instructions in numbered paragraphs which correspond to points on a sketch map. Some additional background information is provided.
