Walks Around Dolgellau Guidebook

Dolgellau, at the head of the magnificent Mawddach Estuary, is an ideal centre for exploring the whole of the southern half of the Snowdonia National Park. All the walks in this book are located close to Dolgellau, with their starting points no more than a 25-minute drive away from the town by car, and all are in scenery that is remarkably varied and interesting.

There are paths on high ridges, in open moorland and nature reserves, along rivers, lakes or the estuary, near waterfalls, following old mining tracks and among moss-cushioned boulders in woodlands of oak, beech, ash and birch.

The twenty walks in this book are circular and are mostly between 4 and 7 miles in length. The routes are designed to let you experience the best walking locations close to Dolgellau. Each walk chapter starts with a brief description and information about how to get to the start. The main detailed route description has numbered paragraphs and a sketch map with the paragraph numbers shown as location points is included.
