Walks Around Conwy Guidebook

Walks Around Conwy Guidebook

by: David Berry
This book contains thirty walks exploring the area around the stunning medieval fortified walled town of Conwy, including nearby Sychnant Pass and the foothills and upland valleys in the northern fringes of the Snowdonia National Park, using an extensive network of delightful paths and upland tracks.

Visit Conwy Mountain and other dramatic hills towering above the coast and towns of Llanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr. Explore an open upland landscape overlooked by the foothills of the Carneddau, once occupied by early man and now grazed by wild ponies and containing ancient standing stones and stone circles. Walk along an ancient upland highway later used by the Romans and drovers. Stroll along the beach and dunes, climb Tal-y-fan Mountain and marvel at the famous waterfall at Aber.

The walks vary in length from 2 to 8.5 miles. Each walk entry begins with a short overview description giving an indication of difficulty and features plus the starting point including grid reference. Detailed route finding instructions follow in numbered paragraphs relating to numbered points on an associated sketch map. A summary chart of the walks gives length, grade, time, links with other walks and terrain features.
