Walking in the Aire

Walking in the Aire is a book of 14 attractive short walks in Airedale, Yorkshire that are suitable for occasional walkers, families and also regular walkers. Airedale is a scenic and vastly underrated area, largely away from the crowds.

Each walk has well-written detailed route instructions, designed to be easy to follow. The outline maps and photographs are printed in full colour. The distances range from 2 to 7.5 miles, with most ideal for an afternoon or evening walk. Practical information provided at the beginning of each walk chapter includes distance, estimated time, OS Explorer map sheet number, grid reference of starting point, car parking and public transport details. Four of the walks are linear, and for these clear instructions are provided on returning to the start point by public transport. The maps show the outward leg of the walks in green and the return leg in red. Some historical facts are included in the text, printed in italics.
