Carmarthenshire in south Wales is a county of contrasts. Convenient to Cardiff and Swansea yet quietly rural and scattered with market towns and picturesque villages it offers fantastic routes for walkers of all abilities. With around 1850 miles of footpaths, Carmarthenshire is a walker's paradise. Highlights include the Black Mountains (Mynydd Du), the Teifi Valley, Carmarthen Bay, the southwestern Coast, and 'Dylan Thomas Country' around Laugharne.

This guidebook describes 30 contrasting day walks, both circular and linear and ranging from 2 to 10 miles. They explore the mountains, valleys and coastline of Carmarthenshire in south-west Wales including parts of the Brecon Beacons and the Cambrian Mountains.
Alongside detailed route descriptions and OS 1:50,000 mapping, the book is packed with interesting information about the places and heritage encountered.
