Walking Close to the New Forest (North and West) Guidebook

Walking Close to the New Forest (North and West) Guidebook

by: Clive Brown
This guide is one of an extensive series of 'no frills' local walking guide booklets which admirably achieve their objective of getting you out in the countryside amongst beautiful scenery on carefully chosen routes full of interest. The directions are simple and detailed and include clear pencil drawn sketch maps.

This guide describes eleven varied and interesting circular walks within or close to the New Forest National Park, mainly north and west of the A31/A35 corridor. Distances vary from 4 to 8 miles. The New Forest became a National Nature Reserve in 1968 and a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1971. It was not until 2005 that it was granted National Park status. An introductory page gives some brief details of the Rufus Stone and the forest as a king's hunting domain.
