Walking Close to Oxford Guidebook

Walking Close to Oxford Guidebook

by Clive Brown
One of a range of 'no frills' local walking guide booklets which admirably achieve their objective of getting you out in the countryside amongst beautiful scenery on carefully chosen routes full of interest. The directions are clear and precise and the pencil drawn sketch maps are particularly attractive as well as practical.

This guide describes ten varied and interesting circular walks close to the River Thames near Oxford. The walks are between 4 and 10 miles in length and allow you to thoroughly explore the delights of this lovely historic area. The Thames flows for 215 miles from its source near the village of Kemble in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds to London and the sea. The river is commonly known as the Isis in the Oxford area, a diminution of the Roman term Thamesis.

Begbroke, Bladon and Bladon Heath - 4.75 miles
Wootton, Sunningwell and Jarn Mound - 7.5 miles
