This superb full-colour guidebook contains 30 epic walks in Nothern Ireland's highest mountains, which sweep majestically down to the Irish Sea at the pretty seaside town of Newcastle. The routes have been hand picked and clearly written by the author, a local walker with decades of experience. They include wild mountain terrain, beautifully long ridges, magnificent summits and vibrant heather and gorse covered slopes. The highest peaks are completely encircled by the famous, 22-mile long, Mourne Wall.

The book contains lots of stunning colour photographs and the route descriptions are complimented with high quality OSNI maps at a scale of 1:25,000. There are numbered waypoints linking the maps to the clear route-finding instructions. An introductory chapter describes the region and gives advice on when to go, accommodation, getting around on the trail, what to take, safety, wildlife, plants and geology. There is also an overview summary chart giving practical details of all the walks.

Each of the route descriptions begins with a panel giving time, distance, ascent and descent, maximum altitude and a difficulty grading. Start and finish grid references are provided and a gradient profile.
