Surrey Outstanding Circular Walks

Surrey Outstanding Circular Walks

by: Deborah King
Despite being within easy reach of London there is a surprising amount of unspoilt and rich countryside in Surrey. This is an attractive area for walkers as the terrain is varied, ranging from the open ridge tops of the North Downs that offer extensive views, to the slopes of the greensand ridge and the ubiquitous forests. There is a dense network of public footpaths and bridleways and the county is criss-crossed with a number of long distance footpaths.

In this Pathfinder guide clear and easy to follow directions are accompanied by detailed 1:25,000 scale maps from Ordnance Survey and specially commissioned photographs. With 28 colour-coded routes to choose from, all tried and tested by seasoned walkers, there is a walk to suit all situations. The guide introduces you to the area and highlights the most scenic walks. Details are included for useful organisations, refreshment stops and places to leave your car. GPS waypoints are included.
