This book contains twenty tried and tested walks which are predominantly short and should be accessible to virtually all country walkers. The lengths of the walks vary, as does the effort required, but the emphasis is on enjoyment, not exhaustion.

Introductory notes at the beginning of each walk include distance, total ascent, ground conditions, helpful comments on starting places and car parking. Information is also included about places of interest along the way and refreshment stops. The navigation instructions are given in clear numbered paragraphs supported by detailed sketch maps with numbers referenced to the text. There are also numerous black and white photographs throughout the book.
