Outer Hebrides 40 Coast and Country Walks

Outer Hebrides 40 Coast and Country Walks

by: Paul and Helen Webster
The Outer Hebrides are a place apart, an island chain stretching almost 200km from the Butt of Lewis to Barra Head with some of Britain's most mesmerising beaches, dramatic mountain ranges, wonderful wildlife, a long fascinating history and a rich and vibrant Gaelic culture.

This book features 40 mostly moderate walks, with many ideal for families, which take in magnificent sweeps of sand, soaring sea cliffs and memorable hill ascents, as well as celebrated cultural sites such as the haunting Standing Stones at Callanish and the blackhouse village of Na Gearrannan.

Each walk entry begins with at-a-glance details of distance, time, terrain and public transport access. Clear route finding instructions are provided together with simple overview sketch maps, but OS Explorer map sheet numbers are also provided. The text also includes brief notes on features of interest along the way and colour photographs. The walk locations are:
