This well-illustrated pocket guide describes 20 splendid short country walks suitable for all the family. The routes are divided into three grades for length and difficulty and are easily identified by colour coding. There is a short introductory chapter providing information on landscape and the human history of the New Forest. A summary chart gives at-a-glance details of all the walks and there is a location map.

Each walk entry begins with an overview description of its features and character. A fact panel gives start location, distance, time estimate, GPS waypoints, any public transport information, refreshment options and parking details. The main route finding instructions are clear and are supported by full colour Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 scale map extracts with the route highlighted in yellow. Information on places of interest along the way are provided in separate text boxes.
