Heart of the Pennine Way Walking Guidebook

Heart of the Pennine Way Walking Guidebook

by: Tony and Chris Grogan
The Mid Pennine Way is a 165 mile walk from Hebden Bridge to Hadrian's Wall along the very heart of Britain's premier National Trail. The route makes a fine long distance walk in its own right, and can be easily completed within a fortnight's holiday. Alternatively it can be tackled in several stages using the beautiful and iconic Settle to Carlisle railway to access the route at key points.
The book provides clear navigation instructions including full colour large-scale maps of the entire route including precision notes describing every point where the way forward is unclear. This ensures that the guide will make the practical task of route-finding easy. And for those who don't like to leave any unfinished business, the guide contains additional detailed mapping to the whole of the 268 mile Pennine Way National Trail.

The book describes the route in ten stages as follows:
Hebden Bridge to Ickornshaw - 16.8 miles
Ickoenshaw to Malham - 17.5 miles
Malham to Horton-in-Ribblesdale - 14.8 miles
Horton-in-Ribblesdale to Hawes - 13.6 miles
Hawes to Tan Hill - 16.3 miles
Tan Hill to Middleton-in-Teesdale - 16.6 miles
Middleton-in-Teesdale to Dufton - 20.2 miles
