The perfect way to explore Hampshire and the New Forest is with a scenic circular walk followed by tea and cake. The 20 walks in this book range from 2 to 6 miles in length, taking in stunning countryside and some of the area's loveliest villages. Highlights include the thatched cottages of Minstead in the heart of the New Forest; woodland and heath at Lyndhurst; and a coastal walk at Milford-on-Sea.
Each walk is carefully described and is accompanied by a sketch map of the route. Numbers are used, both against the walk instructions and on the map, to make path finding easier. There are also 'how to get there' notes for the start of the walk. The walks are designed so that, starting where suggested, the teashop is reached in the second half so that a good appetite can be worked up. For those who prefer to start and finish at the teashop instructions are also provided. Practical information on the teashops including their opening times, phone number, website if available, regular menus and house specialities are also provided. For those walks where the teashop closes or has restricted hours in the winter months, other refreshment places may be recommended.
