The Ordnance Survey 'Short Walks Made Easy' series of walking guidebooks have a unique design intended to make route finding easy for those new to countryside walking and thus encourage everyone to get outdoors. Having said that, the short routes in this guide offer stunning scenery including moorland, rivers, woodland, and coast that will also appeal to regular walkers who have limited time or prefer shorter walks. The 10 walks in this guidebook vary from 1 mile to 4 miles.

OS have used a simplified large scale map style that makes it easier for you to focus on the route and points of interest along the way. For those not comfortable with map reading there is a simple to follow route profile with accompanying route description and pictures. Each route entry has sections with stories behind the walk and nature notes to ensure you get the most enjoyment out of the walk. At the beginning of each route entry there is a panel of practical information including distance, time, start point, parking, public toilets, cafes and pubs, terrain, and suitability for dogs.
