Dorset - A Dog Walker's Guidebook

Dorset - A Dog Walker's Guidebook

by: Nigel Vile
There is often nothing quite so enjoyable for dog owners than getting out into the countryside with their pet for a walk. Once you get off your home patch however, it can be hard to know where to walk safely with your dog and which pubs and cafes will welcome you both.

Here is a collection of 20 tried and tested circular walks with plenty of opportunities for your dog to roam safely off lead. The routes vary in length from 3 to 6 miles and have been designed for minimum exposure to roads. There are walks on heathland, on open hills with majestic views and Iron Age forts, along the coast, and so much more in a county with history and intrigue at every turn.

Each of the walks begins with practical information including type of terrain, where to park, how to get there, nearest refreshments, and dog factors including distance, any road walking, livestock, stiles and contact details for a local vet. The route finding instructions which follow are clear and written in numbered paragraphs. Accompanying sketch maps show the paragraph number locations to assist easy navigation. The book includes numerous full colour photographs.
