Day Walks in the Cotswolds

Day Walks in the Cotswolds

by: Judy Mills
This book features 20 circular routes, between 7.1 and 12.6 miles suitable for hillwalkers of all abilities. Split across the North-East Cotswolds, North-West Cotswolds and the South Cotswolds, local author Judy Mills shares her favourite walks in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

These walks take in a variety of local landmarks, including World War II airfields and Roman villas; Neolithic long barrows such as Hetty Pegler's Tump; country estates like Badminton, manor houses and historic churches; high points at Bredon Hill and North Nibley; and the many charming rural villages for which the Cotswolds is famous.

This guide is a visual delight with lots of stunning colour photography throughout and full colour OS Explorer 1:25,000 mapping with the routes clearly outlined in green. Each walk chapter begins with an introduction to the walk, describing its features and places of interest. Distance, time, navigation information, starting grid reference and refreshment stops are provided. This is followed by a detailed route finding section with numbered paragraphs linked to numbers on the OS route maps.
