Cotswold Way Sparky Walking Guidebook

Cotswold Way Sparky Walking Guidebook

authors: Jon Cox and Peter Burton
This full colour guidebook has an attractive and practical format making it easy to use both for planning and out on the trail. It begins with a very informative and well-illustrated introduction to the Cotswold Way, its landscapes and history. Then follows some practical planning advice on how to walk the route. This is followed by a synopsis of each of the ten daily stages into which the authors have divided the 102-mile route.

The rest of the book consists of Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 scale mapping. Each page of mapping has a number of text panels providing information on everything of interest along the way, so it's right there when you need it on the map. This often-intriguing information brings alive the richness of the country around you, both past and present, seen and unseen. There are also links to resources to deepen your understanding of whatever has piqued your interest.

There are two sections at the rear of the book. One providing information on accommodation, public transport and parking and a second listing flora and fauna likely to be encountered on-route including colour illustrations.
