Since 8 paper maps represent considerable weight and cost using a GPS device loaded with the relevant OS maps may be worth considering. The sketch maps in the guidebook should be sufficient for most navigation needs, but we would recommend also having access to the OS Explorer maps for additional security and confidence. They will also enable you to appreciate the route in its wider context and get a better feeling for the general topography of the landscape.
