The Shropshire Hills are simply stunning and have quite rightly been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The main bulk of the higher ground is concentrated upon the wonderful Long Mynd, which provides a backdrop to the pretty town of Church Stretton, central to a lot of the walks in this book.

But there is much more to explore which you will discover with this book. Beyond the mass of the Long Mynd you will find an exciting line of narrow hills; The Lawley, Caer Caradoc, Ragleth Hill and the Hope Bowdler Range with the delightful escarpment of Wenlock Edge beyond them again. There is also the ever popular Wrekin providing an outlying top further to the east. To the west of the Long Mynd you will find the Stiperstones, providing one of Shropshire's best ridge walks.

Each walk begins with a panel giving an overview summary and start location with grid reference and instructions how to get there. The detailed route finding instructions are written in numbered paragraphs referenced to a clear sketch map.
