Walking Mid Wales' Nature Reserves Guidebook

Walking Mid Wales' Nature Reserves Guidebook

by: Jane Griffiths
The twenty walks described in this book visit a diverse range of nature reserves managed by various organisations including the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust, the Woodland Trust and RSPB. Sites visited include several areas of woodland, wildfowl winter feeding grounds, a waterfall gorge with Victorian features, upland moor and wetland and a common frequented by ground-nesting birds. The walks vary in length from 2 to 9 miles.

Each walk entry begins with a short overview description giving an indication of difficulty and features plus the starting point including grid reference. Detailed route finding instructions follow in numbered paragraphs relating to numbered points on an associated sketch map. The maps include some attractive pencil sketches of wildlife and views. There is a summary table of the walks also giving start point and grid reference, distance, grade, time and terrain remarks.
